HamUpgrade is a little project that I have been working on for about a year or so. Like many of my other programs, I wrote it for me. In this case,
I actually bought a product:
Extra Class Study Manual & Software Package.
The manual that comes with the package is wonderful. You can get the book separately, here. I was assured that the software package would run on Windows XP/2000, even though the package did not indicate that it would. Well it doesn't. I could not
get it to run and could not easily find technical support. So... I wrote my own. I never saw the one with the above package, so I do not know how it compares. If you have seen the above package, tell me how it compares to mine. You can always request a new feature to be added to HamUpgrade, if you like.
I have taken many online and/or computer based training and testing courses over the years. Though, I don't particularily care for the
questions or test content, the Microsoft ® MCSE ® testing engine works remarkedly well. I found it to be easy to use and provided just the
right amount of feedback. So, I modeled the interface after that experience.
Also, I made it so that it could be updated easily, by cutting and pasting the content from the web-site into a data file, that HamUpgrade would read directly.
The Download is NOT Ready, Yet. But... It Is Coming Soon...
I'm working on this project, as time allows. The code is done (I'm using it to study for my extra exam), but the packaging is not quite ready. If you would like an email when it is ready, drop me a line and I will add you to a notification list. Thanks.
